Is money the root of all evil or is the lack of money the root of all evil?

I had to friends with conflicting view-points about having money and not having money. One said money is the root of all evil. The other contend that the lack of money is the root of all evil. So, i was left with a conflicting view points about money. I wanna learn from sage here, Is money the root of all evil or is the lack of money the root of all evil?

Inresite Money is like a little twisted version of “heavenly peace” on earth, in the sense that thanks to your possession of it you feel safe, people are in good terms with you or even love you, you have hope for the future, etc. If you had no money or money did not exist and you wanted to enjoy this “heavenly peace” you will need wisdom, good will, humbleness and the like, and these things are not something that you need to protect against others or that you can lose easily. In contrast, the happiness that comes from money depends on your property of it and protecting it against others, so there are contradictions and mixed emotions hidden in that money happiness in my opinion. And you’re worried about losing it when you have it, so your question might not be that relevant maybe.

Neither money nor the lack of it is the root of all evil. There are countless roots of evil in this world depends on the subject. In this aspect of acquisition and lack of money, greed and fear are the roots of evil.

Greed make person to want to have more money regardingless of any means even though involves losing his own moral values and soul. For instance, a once a modest woman turns into prostitution due to greed of money. Another example of greed, is a top state official, despite being a highly paid worker, who loot a state fund and escape to oversea countries.
Fear of losing money after possession make the possessor over-protective and miserly of money, and could kill so to have it in his possession.
