The stupidity of waving foreign country’s flag in protest or victory against bad governance in Sahel and Nigeria. This post is not to criticise any member race, but rather a wake-up call!
Waving foreign flag in a home country, implies two things, one those waving foreign flags were paid pro-supperters working in secret with the country whose flag being waved or, two, you have been conquered within by agents of the foreign country whose flag was waved. Either way is an act of treason for those perpetrators.
Such mutinous deeds draws unwanted interest from the foreign country whose flag is waved to home country. What that means is the foreign country may come as a helper favouring the people against the bad government, and may successful dispose the bad government displeased by the people, however, in turn, install puppet in position who will serve the interest of the foreign country in stead home country.
The recent coup d’etat in countries in sahel region of Africa, Guinea, Bokina Faso, Mali, Niger…, influence by Russian government, and the protest of bad government in Nigeria, specifically, from the northern Nigeria saw some unpatroitic citizens unwittingly waving the Russian flag in their respective Nations.
In the case of Nigeria, people believed Nigerian army flag was mistaken for the Russian flag, and that the Kano protesters had never intented to waved Russia flag, which obviously had the same tricolor with Russian flag with slight position differences. However, critics believed the Nigerian protesters deliberately waved Russian flag, “they intended to call on Russian intervention against bad Nigerian government” as their neighboring protesters did in Sahel region.
No reason is justificable for one to waved foreign country’s flag unless one is stupid or a deliberate treachery. Either way should face treason!
How should patriots protest against or celebrate on victory against bad government?
While the protesters chant the country’s national anthem, they wave country flag with both hands (no disregard), wear cloths and painted faces with national flags, displaying placards listing their demands, children join too with small flag polls singing. The aim of the protest is for government policy suitable for the country people.
In a case of celebration over victory against bad government patriots should wave country flag at a poll in every public square, city town gates, and government houses, chanting the song of freedom.
This is the way of civilised, true patriots!
