Scene 1
Italiano, an old feeble man black Smith, call onto his sons, Mario and Luigi, in one fine evening while he rest on his bed. He said to his sons, "My sons, as you can notice, I’m too old and weak to run the black Smith business, and had to sell the business for 4 piece of gold coins. I wish to split the coins between you .
The old black Smith gave Mario, the shorter, fatter, and the older of the twin, two pieces of gold coins.
And he gave Luigi, the taller, younger of the twin, two pieces of gold coins. And he said to them, “use it wisely.” As he uttered these words, he collapsed and died.
Mario and Luigi was so frightening, they rushed their father to the nearest hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A week later, burial was arranged, friends and family members came to burial all wish farewell to the old black Smith, and condoles the grieving family.
Fast forward, one month later. Mario had deposited the two pieces of gold as collateral for loan. His banker granted him a 3,000 dollars loan, which he used to acquire a hectre of land which river flows through it.
He bought some vegetables seedlings, root, and farm tools. Since not yet rainy season, he had to utilize the land before the season approaches. He rechanneled the river with water pump machine he bought from a nearby used-tools shop,
By the time rainy season approaches (exactly six months), Mario has accumulated enough money from.the sales of vegetables to hire a professional farm workers. He bought some large crops seedlings, organic manures from a friend’s animal farm, he started a mass cultivation of variety of food crops.
"Why are you so obsessed with farming??"A passing Luigi asked. “Listen, brother, you know as well as i knew, we had little formal education we hardly finished six grade, as our father was not noble nor rich, he couldn’t afford to pay for us education. I couldn’t relax!”
By the way, How do you go with your share, hope you use it well?
Luigi laughed it off. Well, i had invested it. Luigi excused himself as Mario continued weeding the land.
By the end of the season, Mario was able to harvest large tonnes of food stuff while he had enough stored at home, and he was set for market. He sold it all, and gain lots of money. He managed to pay back his loan and the rest was used to acquire more piece of lands nearby. He repeated the same strategy for not more than two years, and he was set to become a very rich man on the county.
Scene 2
Two and half years ago, as Luigi collected his share of two piece of gold coins from his dying father, he head straight to a famous gambling shop in the county, where hundreds of county men had lost their fortunes and few had won big.
He put his one piece one gold coin on the slut to test water. He wage, and with his luck he won 10 gold coins. He almost jumped to the roof as he rejoice. He recounts to himself “perhaps I’m that few who will win big!”
He desired to win more so he bet with all the 10 gold coins. Again, he won 100 gold coins. “Wooow! That was awesome!” Ok let’s try some more. He tries waging alll 100 gold coins and unfortunately, he lost it all. “No way”. He couldn’t believe his eyes. He put his last piece of Gold coins. Alas, he lost it again. He can’t imagine he just lost his inheritance to gamble house.
“Instead of he takes his money after few attempts won, he was too greedy and he lost it all.” A passerby Luigi said to a friend about his other Friend, who had just lost money his fortune on gambling.
Luigi assumed he was been monitored by the young man, who passed by his rear, and that the young man was referring to him, Luigi called onto the young man, “hey, are you stalking at me, right?” “Nope! The young man disagreed”. Luigi walks closer at him and gave him a sharp punch on the face, the kind of punch that the best kangaroo boxer can’t compete with. Blood all over the young man’s face two of his front teeth broken.
The onlookers watched as the younf man fall on his face.
Suddenly, two constables arrived as though they were waiting for this event. Luigi was arrested and charged for assault, and was asked to pay for reparations. And he had to sell all his belongings and borrowed money from kind friends and families, Mario lend him 200 dollars, before he did.
So, to answer the question Why is the statement “money is the root of all evil” true? Depends on one’s psychology to money. As in the story, Mario managed to build a farming business where he not only sustain himself and family but was able create employment for the unemployed in the county. In his case, money is well used. Not evil. The case of Mario’s twin brother, Luigi, was different. Luigi gambles with all his fortune and lost it, which he grieved so much so that he committed a crime, in turn was bankrupted.
